We are both British. Lucy is from Robin Hood country in Nottinghamshire. Rob is from the west coast of Scotland. We came to Washington State, USA, together twenty-two years ago, and leaving turned out to be the thing that made us pay attention.

We have spent the years since going back and back, getting to know Britain properly as Brits and as tourists both. That double view is the whole of it. We know the country from the inside, the way you only do if you were raised in it, and we also know what it is to arrive as a visitor and want more than the coach stop. Most people who show you Britain have only ever had one of those two.

What we sell is the country you get when a Brit takes you by the hand. The tow-path pub that floods at high tide and hands you the wellies. The church door Tolkien turned into the gates of Moria. The little bookshop on the corner that closes at four, so go before.

Between us, we bring creativity, a fondness for the smallest details, and an abiding fascination with history, stories and folklore. Most of all, we delight in noticing the things that make a place unforgettable—and sharing them with you.
