By your purchase of retreats, travel itineraries, travel bookings, or other services (collectively, the “Services”) from Inside Story, LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“Inside Story,” “we,” or “us”), you hereby acknowledge, and agree to the following terms and conditions (the “Terms of Sale”).

Inside Story is the owner of all of its retreat programs, itineraries, and other materials provided on this site or directly to you.

The terms and conditions set forth in this agreement, along with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, into which these Terms of Sale are incorporated by reference, and, if you book a retreat, the Retreat Agreement & Waiver you sign at the time of booking, constitute the entire understanding and agreement between you (“you” or “your”), other members of your traveling party, and Inside Story with respect to your purchase of the Services.

Intellectual Property Rights

The information on our site and any travel itineraries, retreat itineraries, retreat programs, and related materials created by Inside Story (collectively, “Itineraries”) are our intellectual property, and are provided to you for personal use by you and your traveling party only. All Itineraries travel itineraries or other materials  provided to you by Inside Story are owned by us, our  licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

These Terms of Sale and our website Terms of Use  permit you to use the website and Itineraries for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit (other than to your traveling party or others who may reasonably need to know your whereabouts) any Itinerary, except as follows:

• Your computer may temporarily store copies of such materials in RAM incidental to your accessing and viewing those materials.

• You may store files that are automatically cached by your Web browser for display enhancement purposes.

• You may print or download one copy of a reasonable number of pages of an Itinerary for your own personal, non-commercial use (and use by your travel party) and not for further reproduction, publication, or distribution.

You must not:

• Use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences, or any graphics separately from the accompanying text.

• Delete or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notices from any Itineraries or other materials provided to you.

You must not use for any commercial purposes any Itineraries, any part of the website, or any services or materials we have provided to you.

If you wish to make any use of Itineraries or materials other than that set out in this section, please address your request to: service@insidestorytravel.com.

If you print, copy, modify, download, or otherwise use or provide any other person with access to any Itinerary or any part of the website (“Company Materials”) in breach of these Terms of Sale and the Terms of Use, your right to use the website and any Itineraries will stop immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made. No right, title, or interest in or to the website, its contents, or any Itinerary or other materials  is transferred to you, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved by Inside Story. Any use of Company Materials  not expressly permitted by these Terms of Sale and our Terms of Use is a breach of these Terms of Sale and our Terms of Use and may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws.

The Inside Story name, logo, The Inside Story Teacast, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Inside Story or our affiliates or licensors. You must not use such marks without our prior written permission. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on this site or any Itinerary are the trademarks of their respective owners.

Retreats, Booking Travel, and Payment

Inside Story offers hosted retreats and custom travel itineraries. When you book a retreat, Inside Story arranges and pays for the accommodations, meals, activities, and transportation during the retreat that are described in the retreat details and in your Retreat Agreement & Waiver. Inside Story does not book flights, and does not book accommodations, transportation, or other travel before or after a retreat. Inside Story is registered as a Seller of Travel in the State of Washington (Washington Seller of Travel Registration No. 605351704).

Unless expressly included in your retreat, you are solely responsible for booking and paying for your own travel, including but not limited to flights, international departure taxes, airport transfers, ground transportation, passports, visas, baggage charges, gratuity, travel insurance, rental cars, car services, buses, trains, hotels and other accommodations, tours, experiences, and other activities, including travel before and after a retreat.

We use YouLi, a third-party booking and guest-management platform, to manage retreat applications, bookings, guest forms and questionnaires, agreements, and payments. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors and financial institutions, which currently include YouLi, Stripe, and Bank of America, and may be made by card, bank transfer, or other methods offered at the time of booking. Any surcharge that applies to a particular payment method will be shown to you before you pay. If you authorize automatic payments at the time of booking, your payment card details will be stored securely by Stripe (not by Inside Story) and each installment will be charged to that card automatically on its due date. Your use of these third-party platforms is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person is due at the time of booking a retreat. The balance is payable in three equal installments due 150, 120, and 90 days before the retreat begins, as set out in your Retreat Agreement & Waiver, which also sets out the cancellation and refund terms for retreats and governs if there is any conflict with these Terms of Sale.

Our website includes sponsored ads and affiliate links, which means that Inside Story receives a commission when you purchase services or products through these links.

Eligibility and Residency

Our Services are offered from the United States and are intended for customers who reside in the United States. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase our Services. We do not currently accept retreat bookings from residents of Florida, Hawaii, or Iowa. If you reside outside the United States and choose to purchase our Services, you do so on your own initiative; your purchase is made with Inside Story, LLC in the United States and is governed by these Terms of Sale and the laws of the State of Washington.

Cancellations, Changes, and/or Unused Services

For retreats, the deposit, payment schedule, and cancellation and refund terms in your Retreat Agreement & Waiver apply. For custom itineraries and other Services, you agree to pay in full regardless of whether you ultimately take the trip or use our recommended itinerary, and no refunds will be provided in the event you cancel, alter, modify, or otherwise do not fully use your itinerary or other Services.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, which may be your only means of receiving reimbursement in the event of trip delays, cancellations, or interruptions. We also recommend that you check your health insurance coverage to determine whether your coverage extends to international travel. Inside Story assumes no responsibility for losses due to trip delays, interruptions, cancellations, illness (including but not limited to Covid-19), or injury.

Accommodations and Activities

This section applies to optional activities and events that are not included in your retreat. Inside Story makes no representations or warranties about the safety or quality of these activities and events, or the standard of the independent operator running it.

Activities may include, but are not limited to, vehicle/boat/aircraft trips, walking or guided trips, surfing, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking, horseback riding Events may include, but are not limited to, local festivals, concerts, and organized events. You understand and agree that any assistance given by Inside Story’s retreat hosts, facilitators, or staff to help arrange these optional activities is done in good faith and without any representations or warranties of any kind.

Inside Story does not sponsor or endorse these activities or events, nor can Inside Story be held liable for any injury or illness resulting from your participation. If you decide to participate in these events, you do so voluntarily and should take precautions to ensure your own safety and you will arrange for payment directly with the supplier or independent operators of such activities, event or service.

Discounts and Promotions

From time to time, we may be able to share discounts or promotions from partners on travel accommodations and activities. We will make these discounts and promotions available to travelers as they are made available to us, but we make no representations or warranties that such discounts or promotions will apply to your selected dates or itinerary.

Passports and Visas

You are responsible for ensuring that all necessary travel documents are valid and effective and in your possession for the entire trip. Valid passports are required for travel to most destinations, and visas are required for many. You are solely responsible for checking with the appropriate consulate or embassy for the latest entry requirements and hereby release Inside Story from any duty or responsibility for verifying entry requirements, including but not limited to passport, visa, and vaccinations.

Any information provided to you is merely provided as a courtesy and it is your sole responsibility to ensure you have met all travel requirements for each destination in your itinerary.

Travel Advisories & Warnings

You must conduct your own research and become informed about the destinations in your trip itinerary, including knowledge about any travel advisories, adverse weather events, and warnings issued by government authorities in your country. In the U.S., you must consult the U.S. State Department’s website at www.travel.state.gov or contact them by phone at the number specified on their website.

You are responsible for protecting your own well-being and personal property before, during, and after your trip. This includes ensuring any and all vaccinations, inoculations, or prescribed medications are taken as directed by your local doctor and/or travel clinic for the areas visited. You are also responsible for keeping yourself informed regarding potential adverse weather events that may impact your travel.

Release and Limitation of Liability

You agree that you are traveling at your own risk and release Inside Story from any damage, loss, or injury that may occur during your trip. You agree that the sole remedy for any default by Inside Story arising under this agreement shall be the return of the paid cost of Services, to the extent consistent with applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, Inside Story shall not be liable for any special, consequential, indirect, incidental or other damages arising out of or in any way connected to this agreement, including lost profits, whether such damages arise in contract, negligence, tort, under statute, in equity, at law, or otherwise, even if Inside Story has been advised of the possibility of such damages. You expressly waive any right you may have to recover such damages.

Seller of Travel Registration

Inside Story LLC is registered as a seller of travel with the State of Washington (Registration No. 605351704) and the State of California (CST 2174383-40). Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. This Seller of Travel is not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund. California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account or bond. This business has a trust account.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regards to conflicts of laws principles.

Updates to these Terms of Sale

We reserve the right to update, alter, or amend these Terms of Sale at any time. Any updates will take effect upon posting to our website. The Terms of Sale in effect at the time of your purchase of Services will apply.
